Inanda Club - Da Vinci Alfresco - Sweet, Sweet Fantasy

You know what they say – “a minute on the lips, a lifetime on the hips”.  With gyms, health centres and spas on every corner and Hello Doctor and Dr Oz spoon feeding us healthy guidelines most of us follow a rigorous healthy balanced diet with some form of exercise routine.

Every now and then it is so nice to splurge and indulge in a sweet treat.  We all have our favourites which we serve at birthdays or special occasions.  Some of my all time favourites are:

• The chocolate mousse cake from Fournos
• Milky Lane’s vanilla ice-cream covered & smothered in caramel sauce
• The Bar One Cheesecake at Da Vinci Alfresco at Inanda Club  

The Bar One Cheesecake is not always available so best to check first before you make a special journey for a very special piece of cheesecake (Tel: 011 783-2000).  Da Vinci Alfresco is situated within the Inanda Club grounds with polo fields and horses and has a child friendly vibe and setting with outdoor play area with sandpit, jungle gym and trampoline for the children to enjoy themselves.  Green rolling lawns make this venue highly recommended for country feel in the big city.  Weekends are packed with large family groups and children of every age are catered for with an arts and craft activity shop keeping children busy while you relax and enjoy the surroundings.  Click on link:

Not being accustomed to indulging in sweet treats one might even find that after a light meal or for tea sharing a slice (they are big) can be equally rewarding.  Sharing and oohing and aahing in unison can be fun!  Order with a cappuccino and enjoy!
