96 Winery Road

The Winelands Restaurant

A week ago on what was an extremely cold and wet Cape Sunday morning we were fortunate to have a booking at 96 Winery Road Restaurant. Nothing could have warmed our souls better than sitting in this cosy restaurant which houses two fireplaces and serves delicious food & excellent South African wines.
96 Winery Road was first established in May 1996 and has since gained a solid reputation as a superb dining experience in the Helderberg countryside, offering delectable dishes in a superb setting. The restaurant uses only fresh, often organic and where possible local ingredients to prepare their dishes. 96 Winery Road has a homely, rustic feel to it, with large open windows letting in the fresh air from the surrounding vineyards, and large fires to keep it cosy during winter months.

96 Winery Road also has a walk-in cellar for private functions, and on certain days guests can enjoy tastings of wines selected from nearby Cape wine estates, including wines from part owners of the restaurant Ken Forrester and Martin Meinert. 96 Winery Road advertise their food as being unpretentious and big flavoured, and this is exactly what you can expect. The menu offers enough variety to suit most pallets, and superb flavours and presentation characterise each and every dish. 5 Google reviews
