Tashas Café

Whether you are in Rosebank, Hyde Park, Morningside, or at Atholl Square, Sandton Johannesburg there is something that draws people in their droves to Tashas.

The magnetic pull of the Tashas Café concept is a success story that Natasha, the creator of Tashas Café can be proud.  The first Tashas opened at the Atholl Square shopping centre and they have never looked back.

Tasha’s le Parc Opened in March

Since Tashas opened their French themed restaurant, incorporating a bakery and patisserie on the Upper Mall Level, Hyde Park Corner shopping centre in March 2012 all table have been fully occupied day in and day out.  It has become ‘the’ place to meet for tea and coffee or lunch.

Presentation is everything and I found that even a basic toasted sandwich looks stylish with its rocket and cherry tomato garnish and silver cutlery shinning brightly against the large white plate.  Their cappuccinos are good too.  It appears that everyone loves Tashas.  It is a winning formula, satisfying and feeding both body and soul!

The History of Tashas – Told by Natasha

South Africans had become accustomed to the traditional coffee shop concept, where one can enjoy a freshly brewed cup of coffee, accompanied with a toasted sandwich, a slice of cake, a muffin and maybe a plate of pasta. But Natasha saw a gap in the market for a daytime cafe that provides the consumer with restaurant quality food at affordable coffee shop prices.

Natasha’s 14 years experience in the restaurant industry and her ability to create, co-ordinate and implement her vision, together with her relentless passion, was a natural ingredient to the success recipe of establishing South Africa’s first day time café that offers superior quality meals and an authentic experience. Ever since the opening of Tashas first store in Atholl Square, Sandton, it has grown from strength to strength, based on its principles of excellent food, efficient and friendly service, quality meals and beverages, that are fresh, innovative and affordable.

She says the atmosphere of Tashas cafe can be described as a vibey, friendly, relaxed space with a timeless look and feel that transports and reminds us of Europe. It represents the lifestyle aspirations of urbane and cosmopolitan guests. It is the successful marriage of tastes and design aesthetics, which enhances the authentic flavour and delightful eating experience which is the celebration of the Tashas concept. The stores are designed as beautiful spaces, that include materials such as stucco, terrazzo, marble and solid woods yet they are still light, bright and breezy.
