East Meets West
I was introduced to sushi sixteen years ago by a
colleague whose friend had lived in Canada where sushi was considered a
healthy fast food take away. Over the
years sushi has grown in popularity in South Africa and is even served at
elite functions; sometimes going to the extreme of being displayed and served
on top of beautiful models - men and women’s bodies for guest’s consumption. I
think I will stick to the traditional serving of sushi on a plate, and while
there are many restaurants that specialise in seafood and sushi and we all know
where to find them sometimes a special mention is deserved for sushi that is so
fresh that it really can only be described as very ‘yummy’! I was invited to share in a sushi and sashimi, salmon
roses and French champagne lunch, so without hesitation I was there in a
shot. I discovered that the sushi and
sashimi came from Lucky Moo – Yum Yum Chinese
Food.

Country Living is

Described by
fans as a ‘gorgeous retail store’, an independent store part of the well known
brand called ‘Country Living’ which consists of few elite stores in Gauteng . One of which, a favourite of mine, is
situated at the Bryanston Shopping Centre and includes a wonderful coffee shop
with excellent service, delicious cakes and lunches. Country Living deal with exclusive
suppliers from overseas for the supply of the most beautiful furniture pieces
and accessories. It is a real treat to just
browse around and select bric-a-brac, wall hangings, glassware or furnishings
for your home or that of your friends and family. Having an interior designer on hand for advice
on major interior projects is a big plus.
